This Weekend: "Back to Reality" Mega-Tasting
Labor Day has come and gone, summer is "unofficially" over, and the kids are back in school, so it's time to get down to the serious business of trying some new tasty beverages here at Anytime Wines. Several of our good friends and reliable wine suppliers will be here this Saturday, September 11th, from 1pm to 5pm to share their wines and their expertise.
You'll have a chance to meet Tammy Calaway, the creator and owner and genius behind Sweet T...a cakery, some of the world's most amazing cupcakes; and craftsman Elden Gatwood will also be on hand to show you some interesting and creative wine racks.
Here's a list of some of the wines which will be open at Saturday's Mega-Tasting. And, we'll have a few of the Mega-Tasting wines open on Friday evening at our usual tasting time (4pm to 7pm).

Cellar Selections
For this weekend's Mega-Tasting we'll have 4 wines featured as our "cellar selections." The cost to enjoy samples of all of these wines is $10...well worth it considering the amazing quality and pedigree of these wines.
Robert Young Chardonnay 2007 $37.99
Alexander Valley, Sonoma, California
Wine Spectator 93 points
"Rich and opulent, with layers of fig, melon and honeysuckle flavors that are full-bodied, silky-textured, long and persistent, unveiling the vineyard's purity of flavor."
Argyle Pinot Noir 2008 $29.99
Willamette Valley, Oregon
Wine Spectator 90 points
"Light and easygoing, with a real transparency to its pretty cherry, currant and guava flavors, mingling effectively with cream and delicate spice notes. This just doesn't quit on the finish. Drink now through 2015."
Domaine de Vieux Lazaret Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2007 $36.99
Rhone, France
Wine Advocate/Robert Parker 90 points
"The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape’s dense ruby/purple color is followed by a bouquet of charcoal, framboise, black raspberries, and a hint of spring flowers. It is a rich, full-bodied, concentrated effort with silky tannins and good acidity. Enjoy it over the next 12-15 years."
Parallel Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 $52.99
Napa Valley, California
Wine Enthusiast 94 points and Wine Enthusiast "Editor's Choice" for August 2010
"Delicious and compelling 100% Cabernet from this great vintage. Shows classically developed, sweet Napa tannins and wonderfully ripe fruit. As expressive as the blackberries and currants are, they're reined in with minerals and herbs to produce exquisite tension. Best now, with a good decant, and should develop for many years."
